I think I have to change the title of this series of posts from “Wordless Wednesday” to “(Almost) Wordless Wednesday”. I just can’t say nothing! The definition of a house boat is a little different around these parts. Essentially, if these crazy cajuns and rednecks can put it on a raft of styrofoam and floating barrels, they will…and then it becomes a house boat. Or a floating fish camp. All along the banks of the rivers around these parts, you’ll find these little structures. You’ll also find an assortment of mobile home and double-wide trailers that have been rigged up along the banks, set up as permanent fish camps – where people will come spend a weekend or a summer, although some live in their camps full-time. Some of the camps were damaged in Hurricane Katrina or one of the subsequent storms and have just been left for the swamp to reclaim because that’s the way it happens and the way it works.
