New Orleans is a place uniquely situated for a holiday like Halloween. If you’re at all sensitive, you can feel the history and spirits reaching out to touch you, whisper to you, send a chill up your spine. or it could just be the hurricanes or hand grenades or sazeracs. I prefer to think of it as the spirits, though. You can’t have a city that has over 300 years of history – brutal at times, deadly too many times to count, mysterious and mystical. When you bring in the mysticism piece – all of the myths, misconceptions, and truth that surround Voodoo/Hoodoo – it’s a wonder you don’t see the scepters floating through the Quarter.
Whatever it is, New Orleans is ready for Halloween.
