What was the last thing you made? What materials did you use? Is there something you want to make, but you need to clear some time for it? (Author: Gretchen Rubin)
It’s been a really, really long time since I’ve made something. I think the last time I made something, like really made something was way back in the summer when I made the pear butter. Or I suppose it could have been a couple of weeks ago when I made the apple pie.
I had plans to make lots of things. I wanted Christmas this year to be an orgy of handmade awesomeness. There were so many things pinned to my Chistmas pressie board. But there wasn’t any time and there were way too many options.
I’d like to do some sewing. There are a couple of really cute throws I’d like to make. I’d like to do some crafting. There are some awesome projects out there for the upcoming holidays (Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter). There is cooking and canning to do.
The problem is one of time. I’ve got to create time for so many things. Writing, reading, photographing, creating, growing, resting, loving. And somewhere in there is work. But really. The rest of it is important and necessary, so I’ve got to find the time.
