For quite awhile now, I’ve been thinking that what I really wanted to do with my blog is give it more of a photographic emphasis. I started hosting my Photo Friday link-up, and even though this past week was the first week that I’ve done an (Almost) Wordless Wednesday post in probably a month, I’ve been looking for ways to bring more photography to the site. As I visit people who contribute to my link-up, I’ve stumbled across other link-ups – like this one and this one – that I want to contribute to but my regular features just don’t quite fit the bill.
I decided to put together another photo feature.
I can’t promise how often I will post to it, but I can promise you that it will be photos of our natural world – the swamp, flowers, our Coast’s gorgeous live oaks, etc.
This week, I have photos of agapanthus – one of my favorite flowers that I never knew existed. I want some for in our new yard – both the purple and the white. These were around the Biloxi lighthouse, but they didn’t quite fit into the structure of that particular post. So I saved them for this one.
They make these beautiful huge blooms on the end of a long, skinny stalk. They remind me of something out of Dr. Suess.
They just make me happy. And that is reason enough to love them and share them with you.
What’s blooming where you are? What’s your favorite flower you never knew you needed until you saw it?
