Three weeks ago, Sweet Husband, his momma, and I made our way to Austin, TX for my mother-in-law’s brother’s wedding. I’ve already brought you a few pictures from that trip – these, these, and these. There were, of course, many more pictures that were taken. I think y’all know by now that I’m excruciatingly slow at getting my pictures edited, which is why it’s three weeks later and I’m just now bringing you this set of pictures.
One of the wonderful things about weddings is getting to see friends and family that you haven’t seen for awhile. I think the last time we saw all of those members of that branch of the family was when Sweet Husband and I got married two and a half years ago. It’s always nice to catch up and reconnect – to see how people have grown and changed. And then there’s the making of new friends and getting to meet all sorts of new interesting people. And there were some pretty awesomely interesting folks to meet – including Uncle Bubba’s wife Sammie and her WOW women – who strike me as who I want my NGoH to become ;).
It was a gorgeous location for a wedding, and Chapel Dulcinea is part of an interesting complex. It was hot the day of the wedding – much hotter than I expected October to be. Poor SH was sweating in his shirt and tie…as I’m sure the groom and the groomsmen were.
We had a great weekend – and we can’t wait to make a return trip to Austin. It was a lot of fun hanging out with the family and there are so many things that we didn’t get to see…but want to.
Other than getting to spend time with family and new friends, perhaps the greatest thing about a wedding is reminding me of my own…and how much I love that sweet husband of mine. He’s a handsome devil and a smooth operator. No wonder I love him so.
