Welcome to another edition of the Photo Friday link-up! I’m so glad you are here because I have another fabulous treat for you this week! Last week I brought you a guest post from my friend Cathy of Peregrination Gourmande who took us to Prague. This week I have a post from another dear friend Stephanie of Steph’s Joy! Steph is another fabulous blogger photographer that I met through the Clever Cookie School of Blog. Along with Cathy, we’ve kept in touch through the 10-on-10 Photography Circle that several Cookies began after the end of our time in CCSB. When I asked for support during my rehab from surgery, Steph immediately asked how she could help.
Steph is a Sydney-based blogger photographer who loves capturing images and documenting the world around her…particularly adventures with her Little Man. She is currently pursuing studies in visual design because it feeds her creativity. She’s always up for adventure and on her blog she is always sharing exquisite photos of her experiences. Steph hosts a great Wordless Wednesday link-up each week, so if you are looking for a great one to participate in, consider popping by and joining her each week!
For her guest post this week, Steph is taking us to the Paddington Reservoir Gardens in Sydney. Enjoy going along on the trip with Steph!
Paddington Reservoir Gardens
I had to head out to the other side of town to pick up a gift. It meant a bus trip across the harbour bridge out to Paddington. Paddington in Sydney that is. It’s a very fashionable and hip part of the city, with the main street Oxford Street being lined with fashionable shops. Amongst the busy street, you find a small oasis in Paddington Reservoir Gardens. A place where one can step away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Quite idyllic really.
This is Oxford Street –
Paddington Reservoir Park – originally part of the water pumping system in Sydney which was built in 1860s.
Today it is a lovely spot to catch some zzz’s or read a book. The local council have even provided deck chairs for public use.
It’s a charming space really.
And just full of character…
It’s lovely how they converted the old reservoir into the Gardens, don’t you agree? If you are ever in the neighbourhood, and need a place to escape, this is a great place to do it!
Thanks Jen for letting me share a little of Sydney with you!
What a great place! I love that they were able to turn a place that was no longer serving its original purpose into something so beautiful and functional! I could definitely see me taking an afternoon to explore and relax there. I absolutely love those detail shots of the arches – & I love the shot of the deck chairs. Very nicely done Steph! Please give Steph a follow on Instagram and Facebook so you can enjoy more of her beautiful photography! Thank you for pitching in this week, Steph!
