Welcome to another Photo Friday! How is the weather where you? We are starting to get a touch of fall here in Coastal Mississippi. The temperatures in the morning are dipping into the almost chilly range. This past weekend, Sweet Husband and I sat in the backyard sipping bourbon while sitting around a fire. The days are growing shorter, and if we are honest, the coming winter is the toughest time of the year for me. Even here on the Coast, the sun will soon be in short supply.
In mid-September, when these photos were taken around 6:40 in the morning. Now just a few weeks later, the sun is rising around 6:55, which makes it too late for me to get some photos before I head into work. I really enjoyed those 10-15 minutes with my camera each morning.
I’m really bad about judging distance, but if you pressed me, I’d say this lovely park is half a mile or so from my house. I’ve taken lots of photos there before because it is so close and it is really such a lovely location. When I’m running a little late, it can be a good spot for a few quick snaps.
I think I particularly loved this morning because of the way the sky went from those gorgeous purple and navys to beautiful pinks and golds. There are some mornings when the colors are just incredible, but there are others when I drive towards the sun knowing that it’s just not going to be anything spectacular. It seems odd to say that, doesn’t it? That a sunrise isn’t going to be spectacular. But it’s true. Some mornings the light is just OK.
When you have one of those mornings, you begin to look for other things of interest, and that’s when I noticed that the bayou is in bloom. In the last week or so, I’ve noticed that the swamp daisies are all of the sudden exploding, and my allergies are telling me that the goldenrod is rioting. A couple of weeks ago, though, it was just the walking irises, morning glories, and weeds.
I hope you’ve had a great week and have lots of fun somethings planned for the weekend. With the full moon, I’m hoping to get set up to take some shots of that…& I suppose I’ll start scoping out the best places to catch the sunset since my window on the sunrise is rapidly closing.
Photo Friday Link-Up
Welcome to another edition of the Photo Friday link-up! I’m so excited that you are here with us this week! Last week was a banner week for us with the most participants ever, which is super exciting! However, not many of us clicked through to visit other participants. We actually had fewer visits than links this week. One of the best parts of a link-up is supporting each other. Please make an effort to visit at least two other links.
Last week, our most viewed link came from Sara at Love that Image.
Our final link was Sarah at 2 Paws Designs, who shared an image from her son’s Cub Scouts meeting. As always, if you didn’t check back in after you added your link, go check out some of the awesome links that get added later in the weekend.
Now let’s get to this week’s link-up! Don’t forget to visit a few of the other participants!
