Welcome to another edition of Photo Friday! Because I am still injured, with my arm in a sling, taking new pictures has been a real trial. When you add in our freaky weather, the fact that I am suffering from bronchitis (I know, right? Just keep tossing more and more on my plate), and the increased hecticness of work, I didn’t get a chance to get out and take new photos. Fortunately I always have a rather large stock of photos to draw on, and in this case, it means that I am bringing you more photos from Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
We traditionally spend the Saturday before Mardi Gras with our friends the Strongs on the corner of St. Charles and Common in New Orleans. On that Saturday, three parades roll: the Krewe of Iris, the Krewe of Tucks and the Krewe of Endymion. A couple of weeks ago, I brought you photos from Iris. This week’s it’s Tucks…which just so happens to be our favorite parade…and has a toilet theme.
Because Tucks has a toilet theme, everyone is working to grab the toilet themed throws – the plungers, the mini-toilets, the toilet paper rolls, the toilet seat glasses. This year because the theme of the parade was Tucks Saves the Day – there were super hero capes as well. Husband managed to catch everything this year.
Tucks also has some of the best marching krewes participate, including the Sexah Monkey Organ Grinders.
Of course, there are the bands as well.
If you’re feeling froggy, come on out to Mardi Gras next year. We’ll treat you right!
It’s Friday, which means it is time for another edition of the Photo Friday link-up!
Our most viewed link last week was from Jess at Continual State of Becoming – a gorgeous black and white calla lilly.
