This past Saturday I took myself off for an Artist Date. If you are familiar with Julia Cameron, you know what they are. If you’re not, essentially an Artist Date is supposed to be a solo, one-a-week event where you get out and explore or play. It’s been, quite frankly quite awhile since I took myself off for one. I’ve been wanting to get back to Bay St. Louis for quite awhile, and I’ve been wanting to poke around thrift shops/antique stores/junk shops for a few missing elements for the house. Since Sweet Husband was off in God’s Country with his daddy for the Mississippi State Game, I headed across the Bay.
While I would have liked to have had SH with me, it was really nice to just wander around, picking things up, wondering about them, creating stories, imagining. I took a picture of my personal Beyonce.
(I don’t know why – I have a thing for pink flamingos. I don’t want the plastic cheezy ones. I want the ones that are interesting and with character. I have a 25″ once and three babies. I need this massive one. How to convince SH that he’s worth $150)
Then I was attracted to flowers. I took a bunch of photos that I intended to use for this post, but they didn’t come out exactly the way I envisioned them. This plumbago, though? Perfect.
Do you take yourself on Artist Dates? Where is your favorite place to go?
