Because there are documented benefits to the expression of gratitude, I take Tuesdays to take stock of the good things in my life. This week more than ever, I need to remember all of the very good things in my life.
- Sweet Husband. He’s been extremely patient with me, and he’s been very understanding. I’ve faced a lot of shit on my own, been through a ton of stuff…all on my own…but I don’t know how I’d make it through this without him. One of the greatest things about marriage is knowing that you don’t have to face anything alone. He’s my biggest cheerleader, and I’m lucky.
- Friends. I’m always thankful for my good friends. As life gets temporarily more difficult, I am even more grateful for them and the support they give me.
- Family. I think I’ve got an incredible family, and they come through when we need them. My Sner is coming sometime in August and she’s bringing us an incredible gift. Since my car was totaled a year and a half ago, Sweet Husband and I have been a one vehicle family. It has occasionally been difficult but we’ve made it work. Sner is bringing us her old jeep and that will make our lives easier. Plus I get to see my Sner. She lives 2500 miles away so visits are few and far between.
- Choice. I occasionally–ok, frequently–forget that there are always choices. We always get to choose what we are going to do. It may not feel like a choice and it may only be a choice between bad options. Still a choice.
For what are you thankful this week? What blessings are you counting tonight?
