Today is the first day…day 1…of a search for inspiration. Today is a new beginning, a blank canvas, an opportunity to dig deep and play with my creativity.
Which is totally great. EXCITING even.
The problem is that I’m not off to the greatest start. I meant to get up at 4:00 so I could have coffee and write in my notebook. I wanted to start priming the pump. I have missed that time to center myself and breathe, and I think that I’d be more successful at this new-old teaching thing if I were taking that time. But I’ve under-estimated how time-consuming and draining teaching is. While I could have easily gotten up at 4:00, in fact was awake, I was tired and elected to get back under the covers for another precious hour of sleep.
I will try to do better but I think it’s probably highly unlikely to happen.
I also meant to come home and take my camera for a walk. But there’s this teaching thing going on. I got home a little after 5 and there was work to be done.
In spite if my failed plans, I did try to remember to remain present enough to take note of possible inspirations or ideas. Just a few things from the day:
Before I drift off tonight I hope that I spend a few minutes, even if just 10, reading.
I guess it was’t so bad after all, huh?
How were you inspired today? Leave me a note in the comments and let me know!
