Wednesday I brought you photos of the Renaissance Garden at Hiller Park in Biloxi, Mississippi. The Renaissance Garden isn’t the only part of the park, though. The park is huge with a disc golf course, a boat launch, a playground, and lord knows what else. It backs up the Keesler Air Force Military Base housing and to the Back Bay, and the views are gorgeous. I got captivated by the Spanish moss and a drift wood stump. It’s all so beautiful, and I hope it’s easy to see why I got distracted.
Isn’t it a gorgeous piece? I loved it – absolutely loved it. It is amazing to me that it has been there all that time. If I hadn’t been wearing jeans, I would have gotten down on my knees and gotten pictures of the underside of the roots – such a fascinating ecosystem down there!
And then there was this guy. While I’m not entirely sure, I kinda think he might be one of the aliens from The Simpsons. Or maybe not. Maybe I just had the Simpsons on the brain because while looking for an activity book for my class, I stumbled across my copy of the Simpsons and Philosophy.
I almost missed these. I’d wandered down through a canopy of oaks and Spanish moss, and on my way back, I turned my head to the left to find them…so very many of them. Gorgeous in their own right. One of these days, I’ll be smart enough to know exactly what they are. (& I’m sure Kelly knows)
What a lovely place for recreation. I’ll definitely be heading back to Hiller Park to take more photos. It was a nce respite in a busy day.
I hope you’ve had an excellent week. What have you been capturing this week?
Welcome back to the Photo Friday link-up! I am overwhelmed, you guys! Last week was our largest link-up ever with 38 of you joining in. Because it was back-to-school and because Sweet Husband and I were out of town on a mini get-away, I still haven’t gotten to visiting all of those of you who joined us. I apologize for that, sincerely. I promise to be better this week!
Our most-viewed link last week came from Stella at Purfylle.
Our last-added link for the past week came from TravelnWrite with a post about Myanmar. If you missed it last week, go check her out!
I’m excited to see what you will be sharing with us this week. Remember – please share our link-up. Y’all are the ones spreading the news! Because Sweet Husband is out of town this weekend, I’ll definitely have time to get around to visit with each of you this week; I missed that last week!
