Welcome back to Photo Friday! When I brought you last week’s images at Lake Mars, I told you that I was going to re-edit the photos to incorporate more orange/red tones. Last week’s photos were beautifully blue, and while I loved them, I wanted to see what those same photos would look like with the sky on fire.
One of the things that I want to get better at is my post-production. I use Lightroom to edit all of my photos, and there are a few presets that I enjoy, with quite a few more that I need to play around with. In fact, tonight as I was working with my images, I was really captivated by some of the matte tones. And then I remember that wasn’t what I was editing for this evening. All of that means, though, that it will give me the opportunity to do another round of editing 😉
So, without further ado, I’ve got the re-edits from last week for you. Let me know which set you like better, please. I think there are ones that I like better in blue and ones that work better in the oranges for me.
(I have to say, that this one? I really prefer this one with the blue tones. It’s such a more dramatic image with the very blue sky and the contrast of the orange sun. In fact, I just ordered a metal print of this one – in the blue tones – for in the house)
(and this one? I prefer in the orange/red tones. I like that the details of the driftwood come out better with the warmer tones)
As always, I hope that you have had a great week, and I can’t wait to see what you have to share with us this week! Don’t forget – let me know which versions you like better!
On another note, next week, I will be undergoing surgery on my left shoulder, which was injured in a car accident back in February. While I am recovering, I won’t be able to use my camera. I’ve got some photos in reserve for Photo Friday, and I’ll be using my trusty iPhone to take some photos as well. Most excitingly, though, I’ve reached out to a few of our regular participants here as well as a few other photography friends (& will be reaching out to more!), asking them to provide guest posts for Photo Friday. Collaboration has been on my list of things to explore, and while this isn’t exactly the way I wanted it to happen, I’m excited to have so many people willing to lend a hand. If you’re interested in providing a guest post, let me know! (Recovery could be anywhere from a week to 4 months, so potentially I need quite a few friends 😉 )
Welcome back to the Photo Friday link-up! I’m so excited to have so many of you joining us each week! Again last week, we set a new record for participants, and I’m so grateful for each one of you.
Last week’s most-viewed link came from Steph at Steph’s Joy, sharing with us Sea Cliff Bridge.
Our last added link came from An Artful Mom, and her post was all about how to bounce your flash to create more pleasing, less-harsh light in your photos. It’s funny because I was just talking to a friend about this very thing, and it’s something I need to get better at (although I have tried the business card trick…which works OK). If you missed her post…or any of those added towards the end of the weekend.
On to this week’s link-up! As always – can’t wait to see what you have for us this week!
