In last week’s Photo Friday post, I brought you a lovely image of a rather cheeky brown pelican who was more than happy to pose for me. I promised you last week that I would bring you more photos of him because he was just such a ham. He was the perfect model. I was amazed at how close he allowed me to get to him – literally within just a few feet.
My friend the brown pelican had a friend…who was not at all as cooperative when it came to taking pictures. In fact, I don’t think he hung around much after a couple of photos.
Last week’s photo was photobombed by a shrimp boat, which was just all kinda of awesome. There were a few more pelican-shrimp boat photos in the files.
In all of these photos, I played around a little with the dodge brush in Lightroom. In the original photos, I felt like my friend the pelican was too dark. I like the way that it allowed the details in Friend Pelican’s feathers come out.
In the final photos, Friend Pelican was startled and really scared off by a Great Blue Heron. I captured a couple of photos of him as well, but today is all about Friend Pelican.
If you are here in the United States, I hope that you’ve had an excellent Thanksgiving and will have lots of photos to share with us from your festivities. If you’re getting up to go shopping on Black Friday, have a great time! We’ll be at the race track in New Orleans with friends for our 3rd annual Black Friday Betting Palooza. (hopefully I’ll remember to take lots of pictures for you)
Happy Thanksgiving y’all!
Photo Friday Link-Up
Welcome to another edition of the Photo Friday link-up! Y’all have certainly shared some amazing photos with us during the last week. Thank you so much for participating, sharing, and supporting our efforts here. One of the things that I am thankful for is YOU – and the work you do to make this such a beautiful community.
Our most viewed link last week came from Betty at Photographing New Zealand – sharing photos from her garden. With it gearing up for winter here in the US, it was such a joy to see the lovely colors she captured.
Our last added link came from Cath@Home, sharing the bounty of cherries currently ready for harvest at her home. I’m so jealous! If you missed her or any of the later links from last week, make sure you swing back by and take a look!
As always, I can’t wait to see what you have for us this week! Thank you so much for your participation!
