This week’s Photo Friday is a special treat. Not only is it a Photo Friday post, it’s a See Mississippi post, AND it’s a 10 on 10 Clever Cookie Photography Circle post. Can you handle all of this excitement? Because I’m almost beside myself.
There are all kinds of interesting places on here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast – so many places to visit and see. I have a list of them, and I’m working on making my way through them. When I traveled to New Orleans with the Photography Club, mention was made of the Possum Walk Trail. One of the trailheads for Possum Walk is at Infinity, which is on my list of places to visit. My Sweet Husband has taken his students there several times, and they’ve enjoyed it.
I’d read in the Photography Club group that if I was going to head out to the trail, I needed to make sure that I had my bug spray, which I did but it didn’t help. The deer flies were AWFUL. So bad that I didn’t make much of the trail. I did, however, make it to the Logtown Cemetery before heading to the trail.
Those vines in the foreground are grape vines. They covered the fencing around a family plot – had been planted there – and were make their way into the tree. Grape vines will do that. I’m wondering about why grapes in a cemetery…and if I were a poet or a teller of tales not my own, I think that would be a particularly rich ground to mine. (& I tried to get a better shot – must have taken 20 from all different angles. None of them were good).
The Heritage Trail is a 3.2 mile trek from the cemetery to Infinity. One of these days I will do the whole thing. When I am properly supplied with bug spray and water. There are all sorts of wild flowers along the trial and apparently there are all kinds of wild life – there are warnings along the trial to not move off the trial – snakes, gators, etc. I did not see them while I was battling the deer flies (I swear I put on bug spray before I left the car).
I have at least 10 more photos to share…so make sure you make your way back over the course of the next week or so to check them out.
If you’ve not been here for a 10 on 10 post before, the way it works is that some of my friends from the Clever Cookie School of Blog and I participate in a photography circle – I link to the next person in the circle and they link to the person after them and so on, creating a circle. If you are so inclined, you will leave me and head on over to Veronica of Mum of Five Girls. You will keep going through the circle until you make your way back to me. Please make sure to leave us some love in the comments. We love the comments 😉

Photo Friday Link-Up
Welcome to another edition of the Photo Friday link-up! I think I’m back up to speed on getting around to commenting on blog posts and sharing your work on social media. I may have missed one or two of you last week, and for that I apologize. I’ll be better this week.
Last week’s most viewed link once again came from Betty at Photographing New Zealand, showing us some beautiful flowers.
The last-added link came from Claudia at Images by CW. She hosts a link-up each Saturday, so stop by contribute a link. There were lots of great posts last week, so if you didn’t get a chance to check some of them out, consider giving them a whirl now.
I can’t wait to see what y’all have for us this week!
