Today’s prompt from the Kickin’ it Old Skool Blogathon is
Let’s share some of our favourite movies!
Yikes! This is a had one for me. I’ve never been much of a movie person. Yes, it’s true! It’s not that I don’t like movies; it’s that there were always so very many more interesting things – like books – to capture my attention! And I think that part of it has to do with the fact that we just didn’t watch a lot of television growing up and we were pretty poor growing up – going to the movies happened very rarely.
I literally own movies that have never made it out of their shrink-wrap packaging. *sigh* And was just thinking about going through my collection (and Sweet Husband’s while he’s not looking – he’s a movie junkie with a huge collection that we never watch) to cull items for donation to Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue, which is a charity that my best friend works very closely with. They partner with an organization that will give them money for old DVDs and CDs.
Which is not to say that I don’t love a few movies.
Love Actually is my favorite Christmas movie.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a distant second.
Amalie makes me laugh every time I watch it.
Bull Durham is a classic baseball movie.
As is Major League.
…and how do you not love Tombstone?
My favorite version of Pride and Prejudice is the BBC mini-series. (which just happens to be Sweet Husband’s as well. Shhhhhhh…don’t tell anyone!)
That’s about it, really. I’ve been sitting here for 10 minutes trying to think of other movies that I like, but I’m drawing a blank. What are your favorite movies?
