Earlier in the week Sweet Husband’s parents came down for the State game (sad face at the loss) and brought a cobbler mix. She made us a small blueberry cobbler as dessert during the game, and that made me think about the GrandSner and a summer day over a decade ago.
I’d gone to Missouri to visit my best friend Cari, and we decided that we would really enjoy some blackberry cobbler. We didn’t have any blackberries or know how to make cobbler. Both situations were easily remedied though.
My father’s old home had a ton of wild blackberries growing there, so I picked some there. Then I called Grandma and asked her how to make a cobbler. Easy enough she said.
1 stick of butter, melted in the oven in the pan
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of flour
1 cup of milk
Combine the sugar, flour, and milk in a bowl. Pour that batter on top of the melted butter. Do not stir together. Put the fruit on top of the batter. Bake in the oven at 350 for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
It’s good stuff.
