Just a quick post to wish you all a happy, safe New Year’s Eve. We are headed to New Orleans to drop the Sner off at the airport and then spend the evening with friends along the Mississippi River, sending 2013 out amidst showers of sparks and booms.
On this final Tuesday of the year, I have so much for which to be thankful. Too much for a simple list.
This life I get to live, surrounded by incredible people, is an incredible blessing. There are moments of difficulty and struggle, days when I’m so frustrated I could scream, well-intentioned small-minded hurt, loneliness, Dallas Cowboys & Kansas City Royals losses. But those days don’t last. There’s always something amazing right around the corner to pick me up and lift me – a sweet puppy (or two) asleep in the bed with Sweet Husband, flowers that still bloom in winter, the beach that looks like glass, enough to eat, friends that make me laugh.
There is much to do yet to prepare for the new year. I haven’t done any of it yet. The last two weeks have been spent with family, getting over sickness, traveling, resting, relaxing, ruminating. I am disappointed that I didn’t follow through with Reverb13 & a few other things but I think we are led where we need to be & this time of rest? Apparently right where I needed to be.
And I am thankful.
I hope your holidays have been filled with moments that make lasting memories and that your new year promises to be filled with prosperity and joy. Be safe this evening in whatever pursuits you making.
Happy New Year!
