This is a hard post to write today. *sigh*
I feel a bit like a failure this week. I haven’t done quite as much as I wanted to. There are lots of reasons why, but in the end it comes down to…I didn’t do it.
Tomorrow I will complete Week 1 of a Couch-2-5K program. I had to start on Tuesday because when I got up to run on Monday, the weather was atrocious. I managed to walk 30 minutes anyway, but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to run before the storm rolled in. Tuesday I ran and it was awful. Wednesday I didn’t do anything because I came home Tuesday feeling horrible. Thursday, even though it was my birthday, I was back in the saddle and running. It was a much better run. This morning I did not get up and go because I was so very tired and I knew I was not properly fueled for exercise. The AC went out in our house yesterday, which means that I didn’t eat a lot yesterday (too hot) and I didn’t sleep a lot.
The good news is that they are here to replace the AC unit now, which means in the morning, I’ll be ready to finish out this week strong.
And even though I haven’t really kept track of things this week, according to the scale when I got on it yesterday morning, there at least had not been any gain, and in fact, it looks like I may have lost the bloat that appeared over the weekend and had me panicked (this is what happens when you remember to take your medicine the way you are supposed to. Good girl. Which reminds me: go take your medicine).
I, of course, have not logged into MFP all week long either.
Like I said…I haven’t been very attentive this week, and I don’t like that. *sigh*
Next week is a new week, though, and it starts tomorrow.
I’m going to be getting up, lacing up my shoes and getting tomorrow’s run done. Then I think I’ll finish weeding that front flower bed (since I’ll be up early enough for that). After that we head to Gumbo Acres for a weekend of birthday celebrations, which do not promise to be healthful, but I think I can remember to keep the portions under control. Except for the sangria. I anticipate drinking a bunch of sangria while floating in the pool. Detoxification can begin again on Monday.
And my goals for the week beginning Monday are:
- Complete Week 2 of C25K
- Log my caloric intake (I swear I’m going to do it this time)
- Walk on the days that I don’t run
- Do an at-home cross-fit-style work-out 3 days next week
- Take my lunch 4 days next week
I need a contingency plan for when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
What are your fitness goals for the coming week?
