I spent Saturday afternoon in the French Quarter with Chris Loomis of American Photo Safari and three lovely women from Texas. I’ve done a workshop with Chris before, and I learned a ton about how to use my camera. I wanted to do it again because it’s been awhile, and there’s a lot that I’ve forgotten about how to use my camera and get the best pictures.
The weather was terrible for the first hour of the workshop, and to be honest, I didn’t even think it was going to go off, but it did. I didn’t get as much out of this workshop as I did in the past, but that’s OK because there were things that I forgot. Particularly all about the white balance settings on my camera. I don’t remember if we went over that previously, but it was a revelation to me. There were a few other great reminders, so the price I paid, along with the trip over and back was worth it.
If you’re going to be in New Orleans and want to combine a little history with your sight-seeing, I highly recommend them.
…and now for my photos from the workshop.
