For this week’s (Almost) Wordless Wednesday, I’m bringing you more yard photos. The South is in bloom, and the thin (or in some cases thick) layers of yellow pollen all over the place – cars, houses, roads, sidewalks, porches, yard furniture – is huge clue that spring has sprung. However, you can also hear it if you are listening closely.
Wednesday afternoon, we were all standing outside near Granny’s porch and it took me a few minutes to figure out what that sound was. Then I looked down at the ajuga and noticed the mass of bees. In those small front flower bed, there must have been a hundred carpenter bees buzzing from bloom to bloom.
You’d think that with so many of the bees buzzing around I would have been able to capture one. I sorta did.
The problem is that I’m a wee bit afraid of bees. I’m deathly allergic to wasp stings, so I’ve studiously avoided getting myself in a situation where I might get stung by a bee because I don’t know whether I’m also deathly allergic to those stings too. When you factor in taking the pictures with my iPhone 6, I was being as careful as possible. There might have been some awkward please-don’t-sting-me dancing and flapping of hands during the process of capturing these images.
(do you see him back there?)
The bees were also in the blueberry blossoms, but I didn’t get quite as good of an even hint of a picture there.
Where I’m linking up today.
Don’t forget about the Give-Away I’m hosting! I’d love to have YOU win!
