My Sner and I are on a road trip this week – see my posts from earlier this week for more information – so my photos this week have been from our trip. When we left the Coast on Sunday, we wandered up the Blues Highway through the Delta on in to Memphis.
One of the things that many people don’t know about Mississippi is that she has produced an incredible array of artists – everyone from the very recently departed B.B. King to John Grisham to Edora Welty to William Faulkner. A pretty complete list of artists from Mississippi can be found here, and it includes the very famous Jim Henson.
In Leland, Mississippi you can visit the Jim Henson Museum (just not on Sunday when pretty much everything in the Delta is closed) and view Deer Creek, which inspired Henson to create Kermit the Frog. I’ve actually been to the Henson museum before so I didn’t really feel the need to take the tour, perhaps because my first visit was so traumatic. (The elderly host asked me if I wanted to watch the video. Thinking it was only like a 20 minute thing, I said sure. After almost an hour and a half, I told her that I really had to get going, and she was highly offended)
So today – it’s Kermit and Deer Creek.
Where I’m linking up today.
Don’t forget that Photo Friday goes live tomorrow! Come and join us for a link-up (that can include your Wordless Wednesday posts!)
