About a year ago, I signed up to be a part of the Clever Cookie School of Blog, and since then I’ve gotten to be good blogging friends with some incredible bloggers from around the world. Each month on the 10th, some of us form a 10 on 10 photography circle. We share 10 photos from our life – a day of our life, generally – and one of us link from to another, and our visitors make their way around the circle. Some of you may have made your way here from Diana, and if so WELCOME! Others of you will leave me and head on off to visit with Cathy.
This month, I’m bringing you photos from Dauphin Island. I shared a few photos earlier this week, and now I’m bringing you the rest of the photos. The boys didn’t come back from their fishing trip until about 7:30, which means that right then, I was in the best position to take some fantastic photos with incredible light.
The marina has not only the boat slips and an indoor storage facility for boats, but also what I think of as a boat graveyard. There were three dismantled boats at the end of the end of the piers. There’s a boat graveyard here on the Coast near the industrial canal, and I’ve been wanting to get into it for the longest so I could take pictures. The three on Dauphin Island were fascinating to me.
And then the sun started to go set, which meant that everything got infinitely better.
…and that was my very quick trip to Dauphin Island. I’d like to venture back there – make my way through Bayou La Batre (any Forrest Gump lovers in the house?) and on down to some of the more interesting spots on the Island because it is an historical place.
Now that you have browsed the Dauphin Island Marina, it is time for you to leave me and make your way to my good friend Cathy at Peregrination Gourmande, who lives in France but will be taking you on holiday to Sweden. I’m so terribly jealous because I’d love to take that particular holiday, but I take consolation in the fact that like you, I can enjoy it through Cathy’s photos. When you arrive back at my page, you will have completed the circle if you started with me. (I believe we have 10 participants this month) I can’t wait to see what all the ladies have in store for us this month!
Make sure to leave us some love! We love comments – particularly on our photo posts because sharing photography, like writing, is a vulnerable experience.
